We got Well Well Well into our humble abode, and they came through with their instruments, their nice hats and a dream. This duo wrote up, stamped and sent by sea a beautiful love letter to our city of San Diego. The performance feels like a condensed day at the nearest beach: the soaring pedal steel, deep and vast with spacey sounds, washes over you like a refreshing dip in the ocean; and that tasty guitar, whether shooting out quick licks or bouncing along with rhythmic bossa nova strums, is like a warm blanket to dry you off after that stint in the water. The songs tell stories that could only be set in our hometown, with tales of locals’ favorite outdoor activities being humorously banned, and great numerical references to coastal highways and radio stations that put you right at the tip of the tide that runs down the west coast. You can feel the sun shed light across your face as you go along listening to this session.
